I was reading some of the truthful blogs about the scammer diet aka Kimkins this morning and shaking my head. I understand why some members bury their heads in the sand, I really do. If you are insulated in that surreal place where everyone cheers you on and supports you while you struggle with food issues it is so natural to lose perspective. And when you are super hungry every thought becomes a chore.

And when you might venture out to check out the other low carb support sites they can be intimidating and scary. Bulletin Boards take on a high school like flavor of the in crowd, the geeks, the kid no one likes, the bullies, the passive aggressives who pretend to be your friend, and it is so easy and comforting to scurry back to your safe haven.

I danced around a few places when I started my serious journey to health and fitness a few years ago. I lurked at LCF and always felt like an outsider, an intruder that no one would pay attention to. I still feel that way. But the wide range of opinions on things that matter to me in my weight loss journey helped me much more than a narrow perspective tightly controlled and choreographed. I didn't see it then but I do now in hindsight.

I avoid the playground with it's bullies, know it alls, posters with 50,000 posts who rule the roost and unconsciously or deliberately belittle. I focus on that which matters to me. I seek out the words of the intelligent, the kind, the successful at finding their own weight loss path and sticking to it or changing it as needed. The ones who have honestly walked the walk and share honestly.

Honest is not a word that can be attributed to Kimkins or to Heidi Diaz. No matter what tune she sings now. No matter how she is spinning the haters and liars. She is a bad person. She is dangerous.

I know many of the current members have found support in the membership there in spite of who runs the site. I hope they have found sanity in eating and have collected info so they do not find themselves lost without their network like the hundreds of banned.

There have been so many warnings of this but I think it bears repeating. It makes me sad.

2002 to December 2007

2002 - Heidi Diaz, under the screen name "Kimmer", develops her version of a low-carb diet on the Low Carb Friends diet discussion boards. She reports dramatic weight loss. Some people try her diet and discuss it on the boards. This goes on for several years, with a fair amount of controversy.

2006 - Amid much negativity, in June 2006 Heidi left Low Carb Friends and with a partner who later left, founded Kimkins a fee-based Web site.

January 2007 - An issue of People magazine features people who have lost a lot of weight. One of them credits Kimkins along with another diet. This is the beginning of attention to Kimkins from outside the low-carb community.

June 2007 - Woman's World magazine features Kimkins on the cover.

At this point, the Kimkins Web site explodes with new members, taking in over a million dollars in the month of June alone.

July 2007 - Controversy in the low carb community outside of Low Carb Friends builds quickly. Heidi does a public interview on Jimmy Moore's Livin' La Vida Low Carb Podcast, which brings her further exposure. Inside Low Carb Friends, a dedicated group of members has been working hard for some time to expose Kimkins as a scam and a fraud.

August 2007 - Anti-Kimkins material (mainly blogs) on the net are now spreading like wildfire. People are beginning to report serious side-effects of the diet, and controversy has ramped to a fever-pitch. Kimkins hires a PR director to help deal with the problems. Behind the scenes, we later learn that key administrators are seriously questioning the diet. This leads to them quitting or being fired in early September.

September 2007 - Kimkins administrators leave, including PR director Christin Sherburne, who later reports many symptoms including chest pains and low heart rate. A private investigator was hired to determine the true identity of Kimkins "Kimmer and photos are posted. A lawsuit is organized.

October 2007 - The story is broken on KTLA-TV (more details here, including links to video). Photos are exposed as fraudulent.

Also, as I had a guest membership on Kimkins I responded when Kimmer posted something false about my review. In that message, I warned members to be careful about their health (copy of that message here). I was banned 10 minutes later.

November 2007 - Heidi Diaz is called for a public deposition where she finally tells the truth about her identity, finances, and her fraudulent claims. Kimkins is discussed on a national morning TV show. Another PR director, who appeared on that show, left Kimkins. (More Details on All of This)

To this point, the diet is unchanged. There is no minimum recommendation of vegetables, carbs, or even food on most of the Kimkins plans. If followed to the letter, the option labeled "most popular" would contain less than 600 calories and could be much less. Most worrisome of all is that people would not necessarily know if their bodies were being damaged until it was too late.

Kimkins Lying Liar Admits She Lied

Heidi Diaz has had to admit in public and on tape that she is a lying liar who lies. Don't you love that phrase? I see it used in the same sentence as Kimkins a lot lately and it fits.

In case you haven't seen the latest check out the KTLA news report on Kimkins or as they call it Kim Kins .

Very telling.

More Kimkins Lies~Singing Ass busted in a lie!

Just when it appeared that the Kimkins fraud couldn't get any weirder it appears that the admin and loyal kimkins toadie Delaney Deaver lied on television and in print.

Now lying is nothing new to the kimkins way of life.

Kimkins fabricator Heidi K Diaz simply opens her mouth and lies come out. Admin. and PR Director Jeanne Baitinger aka tippy toes has learned from her boss and appears to make up whatever story will get her the most credibility at the time.

Poor singing lass Delaney Deaver has now also been caught in a whopper too. A few weeks ago she spouted off about the alleged death threats she allegedly had received over her role in enabling the Kimkins scam. Riiiight.

If you are here at my blog you no doubt have been reading about the Kimkins diet, the Kimkins scandal or have seen the media reports about Kimkins founder Heidi K Diaz and her ongoing legal trouble.

There is a wealth of information on the internet posted by people concerned about the extent of the damage done by the Kimkins diet and who also want to stop the fraud and lies behind this diet.

I don't want to rewrite the stories and articles and news reports that eloquently prove that Kimkins is based upon a pack of lies and flawed assumptions. So I am gathering information to share with concerned readers.

This blog is my humble effort at ensuring the plague known as Kimkins and it's author, Heidi K Diaz, aka Kimmer, Kimkins, Kimkims, The Kimmer, and a thousand other aliases is stopped from endangering the health of those sucked into her web of deceit.

Heidi K Diaz is a fraud and opportunist who has sullied the low carb world with her greed and avarice. The Kimkins plan has been discredited by nutritionists, physicians, weight loss experts and even it's few success stories themselves!

You can lose weight safely and sanely and there are numerous FREE websites you can join to learn and share and be supported in your journey.

I joined Low Carb Friends many years ago and lost safely but that is another story for another day. On the side bar are links on healthy low carb eating and groups that you can join (without parting with money first) to learn more. Please check them out.
